March to raise awareness about air pollution in Yerevan
Background
The idea of the event has been discussed since the end of 2024.
The air quality in Yerevan has significantly deteriorated by the winter season (as shown even by the official sensors of the city hall itself), as in previous years. The city and republic authorities are not taking sufficient measures to address this issue.
Results
- More than 300 people successfully participated in the march: they walked through the center of Yerevan in gas masks and respirators.
- The event received wide media coverage and sparked a public discussion about the need for urgent measures to improve air quality in the capital.
