Yerevan for People (YFP) is a civic community of activists working to improve Yerevan's urban environment. We respect your privacy and process personal data in accordance with the Republic of Armenia Law "On Protection of Personal Data" (ZR-49-N of May 18, 2015).

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Personal Data

When interacting with YFP, you may provide:

  • Name and contact details (phone, email, Telegram)
  • Textual information (proposals, comments, requests)
  • Files and documents (when necessary)

2.2 Technical Data

When using our website yfp.am, the following is automatically collected:

  • IP address and browser data
  • Date and time of visit
  • Pages viewed

2.3 Social Media Data

When communicating via Instagram, Telegram, or Facebook, we receive data you provide on these platforms.

3. Purposes of Data Processing

We use your data exclusively to:

  • Review proposals for city improvements
  • Communicate with you on civic initiatives
  • Organize joint events and actions
  • Coordinate volunteer activities
  • Prepare appeals to government authorities
  • Inform about community activities

We do not sell or transfer your data for commercial purposes.

4. Legal Basis

Data processing is carried out based on:

  • Your consent — when filling out forms, subscribing to newsletters, participating in events
  • Legitimate interest — for implementing socially significant initiatives

5. Transfer of Data to Third Parties

With your consent, we may transfer data to:

  • Government authorities (when submitting petitions)
  • Partner organizations (for project implementation)
  • Media (for publishing about your initiative)

Without consent, data is transferred only to:

  • Law enforcement agencies (upon official request)
  • Technical providers (hosting, email services) with confidentiality obligations

We use international services:

  • Cloudflare (USA, EU) — website protection
  • Email services — for mailings

All services ensure adequate data protection levels (GDPR, SOC 2).

6. Data Protection

Technical Measures:

  • Data transmission encryption (HTTPS)
  • Server protection from unauthorized access
  • Regular backup
  • Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection

Organizational Measures:

  • Data access only for authorized community members
  • Confidentiality obligations

In Case of Data Breach: We will immediately notify you, the Police of the Republic of Armenia, and the authorized data protection body.

7. Retention Period

Your data is stored while:

  • Your proposal or project is in progress
  • You do not withdraw consent for processing
  • 3 years have not passed after completion of joint activities

Technical information (logs) is stored for up to 12 months.

8. Your Rights

In accordance with the RA law, you have the right to:

Access — obtain information about your data (within 5 days)

Correction — update inaccurate data (within 3 business days)

Deletion — request data deletion (within 10 business days)

Restriction of processing — temporarily suspend data use

Withdrawal of consent — revoke processing permission at any time

Complaint — contact the authorized body (pdpa.am) or court

9. Use of Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies for:

  • Saving language preferences
  • Form functionality
  • Spam protection

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.

10. Special Categories of Data

We do not specifically collect:

  • Religious beliefs
  • Health or intimate life data

If you voluntarily provide such information, we will process it with an enhanced level of confidentiality.

11. Minors

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling. All proposals are reviewed by people.

14. Applicable Law

This policy is governed by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia. Disputes are resolved through negotiations or in RA courts.
