Community Reporting Guidelines

Effective: April 2025

These guidelines apply to all reports submitted through the YFP platform. By submitting a report, you agree to follow them.

Purpose

YFP is a single intake window for urban matters in Yerevan. Use the platform to report a problem (air pollution, a car parked on the sidewalk, a dangerous pothole, trash, noise, tree cutting, illegal construction, stray animals), share an observation, or suggest an improvement. Reports are forwarded to the relevant services or kept on record for follow-up.

What Makes a Good Report

  • Be specific. Describe what you noticed clearly: what it is, where it is, and why it matters.
  • Include evidence. Photos and videos help understand and verify the situation.
  • Add location. A precise location speeds up the response.
  • Stay factual. Focus on what you observed, not assumptions about who caused it.

Content Rules

Allowed

  • Descriptions of urban problems (air pollution, cars parked on sidewalks, dangerous potholes and sinkholes, overflowing bins, noise, illegal construction, tree cutting, stray animals, accessibility issues)
  • Observations and constructive suggestions for improving the city
  • Expressions of concern or dissatisfaction -- as long as they are civil and substantiated
  • Photos and videos of public spaces relevant to the report

Not Allowed

  • Hate speech, threats, or incitement to violence -- zero tolerance
  • Profanity, insults, or personal attacks -- directed at individuals, groups, officials, or other users
  • Deliberately false or misleading information
  • Spam, advertising, or content unrelated to urban matters
  • Personal data of third parties without their consent (faces, license plates, addresses)
  • Explicit, violent, or disturbing content that is not directly relevant to documenting a safety hazard
  • Content that violates Armenian law

Media Guidelines

  • Photos and videos must be relevant to the content of the report
  • Do not upload content depicting violence, nudity, or graphic injury unless it directly documents a safety hazard
  • Avoid capturing identifiable faces of bystanders when possible
  • Do not upload copyrighted material you do not have the right to use

Moderation

Reports are reviewed before being forwarded to the relevant services. We reserve the right to:

  • Reject reports that violate these guidelines
  • Remove or redact content that contains prohibited material
  • Suspend access for users who repeatedly violate the rules

Decisions on content removal are final. If you believe your report was removed in error, contact us at alex@yfp.am.
