Announcement of the first session of the first convocation of the newly elected Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan

Based on Protocol N1 of May 14, 2013, of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia, "On the Election of Members of the Yerevan Council of Elders", in accordance with Article 16, Part 1, of the RA Law "On Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan" and Clause 102 of the Regulations of the Council of Elders of Yerevan, on June 8, 2013, at 11:00 AM, the first session of the first convocation of the newly elected Council of Elders of Yerevan will take place in the residence of the Yerevan Council of Elders, in the Yerevan City Hall building (Argishti 1), in the hall on the 5th floor, with the following agenda: 1. Formation of a temporary counting commission. 2. Organizational issues related to the oath ceremony of the Mayor of Yerevan. 3. Formation of permanent commissions of the Yerevan Council of Elders. 4. Nomination of chairmen and their deputies of permanent commissions. 5. Setting the date for the regular session of the Yerevan Council of Elders.

Republican open architectural competition for the conceptual design of the reconstruction of Yerevan Republic Square

Yerevan City Hall announces a republican open architectural competition for the conceptual design of the reconstruction of Republic Square in Yerevan. The purpose of the competition is to select the best design proposals that will contribute to the modernization of the square and its adaptation to modern urban development processes. Individual architects, creative groups, and workshops operating in Armenia can participate in the competition. The start of the competition works is May 29, 2013, and the end is August 29. The best three works will be awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes, respectively, with 1 million drams. Three more works will be awarded incentive prizes, each with 500 thousand drams.

Yerevan City Hall announces the list of streets subject to major repair under the 2013 program, by administrative districts and contracting organizations. The works are planned to be completed by August 30, 2013.

Yerevan City Hall announces that a number of events will be held in Yerevan on June 1 in connection with the International Children's Day. In particular, admission to the Zoo will be free for children, free carousels and attractions will operate in "Haghtanak" Park, concerts and competitions will be held. Events will also be held in Azatutyan Square.

The staff of Yerevan City Hall and the staffs of the heads of administrative districts announce a competition for the election (appointment) of executive bodies of municipal non-commercial organizations subordinate to the city of Yerevan. The competition will be held in the building of Yerevan City Hall (Argishti 1). Documents are accepted until June 14, 2013.

In accordance with subparagraphs 12, 13 of Chapter 4 of the exemplary charter of "Social Support Councils" approved by order No. 153-N of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia dated 18.09.2006, non-commercial organizations operating in the city of Yerevan that wish to be included in the composition of "Social Support Councils" operating on a public basis under the Yerevan Social Territorial Branches may submit an application to the Social Security Department of the Yerevan City Hall staff by June 8 of this year.

On May 1, Yerevan Zoo opens its next season: admission for children is free. Visitors can expect theatrical and musical events, an outdoor informational display with the opportunity to participate in animal feeding and ask questions to specialists, as well as competitions and quizzes for children. On May 1, "Haghtanak" Park will also open its season: children under 10 years old will use carousels and attractions for free from 10:00 to 13:00. In the evening, there will be a concert program with the participation of Armenian pop representatives, and the day will conclude with fireworks. In other Yerevan parks, there will be performances by brass bands.

On April 24, 2013, on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Armenian Genocide, free transportation services are organized for visitors to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex. This service will be carried out from the area adjacent to the <<Hrazdan>> stadium from 08:30 to 22:00, on three routes. This event is organized in accordance with the relevant decision of the Mayor of Yerevan.

On April 19, 2013, events dedicated to the year of declaring Yerevan World Book Capital will take place at Yerevan City Hall. The events will include concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, receptions, and meetings with writers. The events will last until late evening.

On April 17, 2013, at 12:00, an extraordinary session of the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan will be convened. The session is convened on the basis of Article 30, Part 1 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan", and Point 115 of the Annex to Decision N1-N of the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan dated June 18, 2009, as well as on the basis of Decision No. 1682-A of the Mayor of Yerevan dated April 12, 2013. The detailed agenda is not specified.

Yerevan City Hall announces a competition to staff the "Yerevan Development Investment Programs Implementation Office" CNCO. Those wishing to participate in the competition can familiarize themselves with the job descriptions and professional requirements on www.careercenter.am and in the "Azg" daily newspaper. Applications must be submitted by May 3, 2013, 18:00, to vacancy@yerevan.am. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Applications must include a cover letter, CV, and contact details of two referees.

According to the Government of the Republic of Armenia Decision N 626-Ն of May 8, 2003, the commission accepting the completed construction object for operation is formed by the developer. The commission includes representatives of various parties, including the developer, the contractor, those carrying out technical and author supervision, operating organizations, state inspectorates, and representatives of Yerevan City Hall. The procedure for the formation of the commission and the organization of its work is regulated by paragraphs 12-17 of the procedure established by the mentioned decision.

On April 5, 2013, at 11:00 AM, the 3rd session of the 9th convocation of the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan will be convened in accordance with Article 26 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan. The agenda of the session includes 19 items.

The draft decision hereby has the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan approve the agenda of the 2nd session of the 9th convocation. The agenda includes 22 items concerning the budget execution report, the gratuitous alienation of apartments and annexes that are community property, land exchange, approval of inventory results, as well as making additions, amendments to previous decisions and recognizing them as obsolete. The agenda also includes issues of installing memorial plaques and naming a school.

Yerevan City Hall is organizing a city-wide clean-up day on March 23 and 24 to carry out sanitary cleaning and landscaping works in the capital's streets, courtyards, parks and squares, and other public areas. The City Hall calls on all economic entities, state and public organizations, educational institutions, and condominiums to actively participate in the clean-up day.

Armen Martirosyan, authorized representative of RA presidential candidate Raffi Hovhannisyan, submitted notifications to Yerevan City Hall regarding holding rallies on February 23, 24, and 25, 2013, from 15:00 to 19:00 in Azatutyan Square. The City Hall, guided by Article 33, Part 3 of the Law on the Fundamentals of Administration, returned the applications in accordance with Article 12 of the Law on Freedom of Assembly, as they were submitted in violation of the deadline established by law.

Due to the construction of the Leningradian Street - Isakov Avenue road junction in the capital, traffic will be temporarily suspended from Leningradian Street to Tsitsernakaberd Highway and Kievyan Street starting from February 17. As an alternative, the direction of Leningradian, Shinhararneri, Arzumanyan, Halabyan streets, then to Kievyan Street or Tsitsernakaberd Highway is suggested. To avoid additional congestion, traffic from Shinhararneri Street to Halabyan Street will be organized as one-way on Arzumanyan Street. Microbus routes No. 18 and 46, as well as bus route No. 28, will temporarily pass through Halabyan, Estonian, and then Shinhararneri streets in this section. We ask for the forgiveness of our fellow citizens for the temporary inconveniences caused.

Yerevan City Hall announces the recruitment of workers to be involved in landscaping, waste removal and sanitary cleaning works of the capital. The work can be both seasonal and permanent.

Yerevan City Hall invites experienced drivers with a D category driving license to work on the capital's intercity bus routes with new buses imported from China. For drivers with B or C category licenses who wish to obtain a D category driving license, "Yerevan Bus" CJSC organizes free courses, with the condition of subsequent employment in the company.
