The Government of the Republic of Armenia has approached the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with a request to provide consultancy services for the detailed design, management, and supervision of construction works for two urban road interchanges for the Urban Sustainable Development Investment Program. Yerevan Municipality (YM) is the implementing agency and acts as the Employer. YM will hire a consultancy firm in accordance with ADB’s Guidelines for the Use of Consultants. The consultancy firm will develop and implement detailed engineering design of works, assistance in preparation of bidding documents, development of safety assurance documents, management of contractual works with contractors, supervision of construction works, acceptance of works, and road safety audit. The works include construction and widening of a 4.8 km road section to at least a 4-lane road. The deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest is August 25, 2011.

The continuation of accreditation of journalists covering the activities of Yerevan City Hall and the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan is announced. To be accredited, it is necessary to submit a written application indicating the data of the legal entity or individual, the journalist's data, the name of the media outlet, email addresses, phone numbers, and one photo. For foreign journalists, a copy of the certificate issued by the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs is required. Accreditation is carried out for a period of one year. Each media outlet can submit a maximum of 2 journalists and 2 photographers or operators. Media outlets must be accredited by February 1 of the current year.

Yerevan City Hall and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia have applied to the bank for financing the Yerevan Metro Investment Program. The entire metro system is in need of rehabilitation. The current program provides one of two phases of the overall investment program. The first phase should include the Priority Investment Program (PIP), which is: rolling stock renovation, renovation of worn track and some components of power supply, acquisition of a technical train and reconstruction of pumping stations. The second phase will include track improvement and resolution of water inflow problems in metro tunnels.
