Concept for dismantling kiosks and pavilions located in Yerevan city

Yerevan City Hall announces the dismantling of kiosks and pavilions located on the streets, avenues, and other public areas of Yerevan city. Temporary structures that are closed, abandoned, as well as those without state registration or with expired lease terms are subject to dismantling. Mutually acceptable options will be discussed for contracts with unexpired lease terms, and alternative solutions will be offered for socially vulnerable groups.

Agenda of the September 13, 2011 session of the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan

The first session of the sixth convocation of the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan will be held on September 13, 2011, at 12:00. This announcement presents the draft agenda for the session.

Yerevan City Hall announces the acceptance of Expressions of Interest for providing consulting services within the framework of the Urban Sustainable Development Investment Program. The program aims to strengthen the capacity of the City Hall and support program management. The deadline for submitting applications is September 19, 2011.

Announcement on the selection of an Independent Monitoring Organization (IMO) for Program 1 of the Urban Sustainable Development Investment Program. The IMO will monitor and verify the development and implementation of the land acquisition and resettlement plan, identify problems and propose solutions. The deadline for submission of applications is September 17, 2011.

On August 8, 2011, at 12:00, an extraordinary session of the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan will be convened in accordance with the law and decision. The agenda of the session refers to "Yerevan City Hall".

The Government of the Republic of Armenia has approached the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with a request to provide consultancy services for the detailed design, management, and supervision of construction works for two urban road interchanges for the Urban Sustainable Development Investment Program. Yerevan Municipality (YM) is the implementing agency and acts as the Employer. YM will hire a consultancy firm in accordance with ADB’s Guidelines for the Use of Consultants. The consultancy firm will develop and implement detailed engineering design of works, assistance in preparation of bidding documents, development of safety assurance documents, management of contractual works with contractors, supervision of construction works, acceptance of works, and road safety audit. The works include construction and widening of a 4.8 km road section to at least a 4-lane road. The deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest is August 25, 2011.

Due to the construction work of the 2nd phase of the reconstruction of Tsitsernakaberd highway, traffic will be closed on the mentioned highway from July 21, 2011, until August 30. During this period, a number of bus and minibus routes will operate on detour roads.

Guided by Article 30, Part 1 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan" and Article 115 of the appendix to Decision N1-N of the Council of Elders of Yerevan dated June 18, 2009, by Decision No. 3105-Ա of the Mayor of Yerevan dated July 14, 2011, an extraordinary session of the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan will be convened on July 19, 2011, at 11:00, with the following agenda.

Yerevan City Hall announces a nomination contest dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Armenia. The purpose of the contest is to evaluate and encourage organizations, structures and institutions that have improved and greened their adjacent areas. The contest will be held in two stages: regional and city.

On July 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM, a press conference will be held at the <<Erebuni>> Historical-Archaeological Preserve-Museum dedicated to the summary of archaeological research and excavations carried out within the framework of the four-year Armenian-French cooperation program in the citadel of Erebuni Fortress in 2008-2011. On June 25, Henri Reno, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia, accompanied by a French delegation, visited the Erebuni Historical and Archaeological Reserve-Museum. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the results of the last phase of the Armenian-French joint archaeological program. The Ambassador noted France's pride in participating in such research projects and assured that cooperation will continue. He also emphasized the preservation of the Erebuni archaeological site.

On June 28 and 29, 2011, the <<Erebuni>> Historical-Archaeological Museum-Reserve, in conjunction with the Armenian-French archaeological expedition, is organizing a two-day lecture series. The lectures are dedicated to the current issues and approaches in the study, preservation, and popularization of archaeological heritage in France. The event will take place at the <<Erebuni>> Museum-Reserve, in French with simultaneous Armenian translation. Confirmation of participation is required by June 25.

According to point 26 of the regulations of the Council of Elders of Yerevan, the fifth session of the fifth convocation of the Council of Elders of Yerevan will be convened on June 24, 2011, at 11:00.

Announcement on the schedule of cultural events organized in the administrative districts of Yerevan city on June 11 and 12.

On June 4, the match between the Armenian and Russian national football teams will be broadcast on the TV screen installed in France Square. To watch the game and ensure the safety of spectators, traffic will be stopped on parts of Mashtots Avenue and Sayat-Nova Avenue from 19:30 to 22:00.

Yerevan City Hall invites interested companies, financial institutions and city organizations to jointly participate in the implementation of the City Hall's targeted projects aimed at improving and capital renovating the building conditions of fire-rescue squads serving the city's territory. The City Hall expresses its readiness to provide interested companies and organizations with the placement of outdoor advertisements in the city under equivalent preferential conditions as compensation for appropriate funds. The implementation of the mentioned joint project will make it possible to capital renovate the buildings of fire-rescue squads in a short period and on a mutually beneficial basis.
